tanglefootcomic:

Izzy demonstrating how to maintain an air of professionalism whilst operating out of a broom closet in a rooming house. This was just meant to be a little sketch for my own reference, but I would seem to have gone and coloured it… badly…

I live in New Orleans and it’s Mardi Gras, so what the hell am I doing sitting at home posting rubbish on Tumblr anyhow?

I don’t know if this completely make sense and I’ve more than likely left out a few points as I wrote this in a fit of frustration but I don’t really care as long as you get where I’m coming from. I understand why people are feminists or masculists, I’m just saying it would be better to be equalists so that everyone is actually equal, because it’s not fair and won’t fix anything if you only focus on one gender. This is really to those who say feminism/masculism is equalism when it isn’t (come one, there’s a reason why it’s “feminism” and “masculism”). It’s also to point out that yes, men do suffer from inequality too, and whilst it’s not on the same scale as women (particularly when you compare women and men world wide) it’s still there and I do not believe in ignoring the minority, no matter how small.

Obviously, there will be some rights you just can’t give to both genders such as you can’t give men priority seating if they’re pregnant because they can’t get pregnant in the first place. What I want is for people to have as many as possible of the same rights or equivalent rights.

Also, this is just my opinion so if you want to give me yours, I’d really appreciate it if you give your responses directly to me and don’t just send blind hate because I’ll ignore it. I really just want to have a civil conversation about this to get a better understanding around the whole gender inequality thing.

i’m going to lose a ton of followers for this but I needed to say it.

The purpose is to experience fear. Fear in the face of certain death. To accept that fear, and maintain control of oneself and one’s crew. This is a quality expected in every Starfleet captain.

You of all people should know.
